About the Marin Family Birth Center
The Marin Family Birth Center is a branch of the Marin City Health and Wellness Center, a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). The birth center's doors opened in August of 2016 as a part of the FQHC's mission to provide innovative health care services throughout the entire life cycle. Through a holistic, integrated approach, our birth center practitioners and partner clinics aim to impact perinatal outcomes. With wraparound services such as nutritional education, exercise, social services, perinatal care, medical and dental care, and support groups, we lay a foundation for a lifetime of optimal health for both mother and child.
Kiki Jordan, Director of the Marin Family Birth Center, is a California Licensed Midwife. She studied midwifery through the apprenticeship model in home and birth center settings. She attended the International School of Midwifery (Miami, FL), and obtained a license to practice out-of-hospital midwifery care in the state of California in 2005. She has attended over 300 births and is proud to have served as a midwife in freestanding birth centers completely owned and operated by licensed midwives. She is passionate about preserving the out-of-hospital option for all women.
